Yeah, it is finally Spring! I am really done with the Winter weather and all of that cold, not-so-fun stuff. OK, to be fair to Winter....I do appreciate the snow and moisture, I would just 'prefer' a nice warm, sunny day. Hopefully, there are plenty to come!
To get everybody caught up on our Spring time events, I will type everything and then post the pictures. I KNOW there has got to be an easier way to posting text and then the pic, I just don't know how. (Tami....we need to schedule a 'How To' session....that would be great!)
Back in February, we bought a used hot tub. Wow, if I had realized how wonderful these are, I would've had one a long time ago. It has become a new found enjoyment for our family. Kendyl doesn't like to wear a swimming suit, so she sports the 'swim diaper' instead.
Carson's 8th birthday was on March 3rd. We had a birthday party with a bunch of his friends at the house the weekend before. Gregg took Carson and the group to Sparetime Fun Center in Roy. They were able to mini-golf, bowl and eat pizza. They had a great time....HAPPY BIRTHDAY Carson! We love you!
On March 14, the family met in Salt Lake for Grandma's grave dedication. Dad said some wonderful things about grandma and offered the dedicatory prayer. Afterwards, we went to Olive Garden and had a wonderful lunch.
Kendyl is now 18 months old and does everything your typical 18 month old does. She might a little more courageous than most, which is why she has a bruise on her forehead....and later on.....her cheek!
Towards the end of March, we decided to take the new (new to us) 5th wheel for a trial run. We sold the old trailer and purchased a used 5th wheel that had enough beds to accomodate our fam. We decided to go close in case something didn't go as planned, so we went to Crystal Springs in Honeyville. It was EXTREMELY windy on that weekend, so we took advantage of the winds and flew the $1.00 kite. We didn't have to make much effort. We just sat in the camp chair and let go of the string.....and off it went! Kendyl was INTRIGUED for a grand total of about two minutes. Shelby and Jake came and swam with us. Mom and Dad made there way out as well. Mom and Dad visited and walked around the pond with Kendyl. Derrek and Kappy came and enjoyed a little dinner in the trailer. By that time, it was too windy and cold to sit outside and eat. So, we ate some dinner inside.
Katelin's dance team has competed in two competitions so far this year. The first one was at Roy High. Her team took 2nd place. The next weekend, she was able to compete at the Energy Solutions Arena (home of the Utah Jazz). There were 179 perfomances that day. She has two routines. The first is called 'Stand Up' and the second is "Jump". The 'Stand Up' routine took 1st place and the 'Jump' routine received a Superior rating (the highest possible rating). The 'Jump' routine gals have been invited to perform at a Utah Jazz game halftime in the 2009-10 season. In Katelin's words, "That was amazing!" We are so proud of her. She is an amazing young woman!
Katelin also tried out for the West Point Junior High Cheer Squad last Thursday. Did she make it......?....(drum roll).......YES!!! West Point Junior High includes the 7th, 8th & 9th graders. She will be in 9th grade next year. Only 9th graders are allowed to be on the team. She is extremely excited. I have included a picture of everyone that was involved in the Cheer/Officer Assembly the school had on Friday morning. This assembly is the old cheerleaders and the old Student Body officers introducing the incoming cheer and officers for next year. Katelin's best friend, Ashley, also made the team.
Kylee, Maigen and Carson are all on separate soccer teams. I haven't taken my camera to the games. So, stay tuned for pictures of their soccer adventures. Kylee and Carson both scored two goals at the last game.
What a wonderful family I have. You are all amazing and I am so grateful to be a part of it. If I haven't told everyone lately......
I SURE DO LOVE YA!!!
